Chrystia Freeland Proves She is Out-of-Touch with Canadians

Ottawa, ON — Canada’s Common Sense Conservatives released the following statement on Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland’s out-of-touch comments when asked about the Liberals’ crippling carbon tax hikes:

This morning, when repeatedly pressed, Trudeau’s out-of-touch Finance Minister tried to tell Canadians that she understood the pain Liberal taxes were causing but then turned around and admitted that she doesn’t feel the effects of the carbon tax: “I don’t actually own a car because I live in Downtown Toronto. I’m like 300 meters from the nearest subway. I walk, I take the subway, I make my kids walk, ride their bikes, and take the subway. It’s actually healthier for our family. I can live that way.”

This elite, out-of-touch Finance Minister doesn’t care how Liberal policies have made life unaffordable for Canadians and thinks the solution is just to live a life like hers.

The first Liberal carbon tax has already added 14.3 cents for every litre of gas.

The second Liberal carbon tax, which came into effect on July 1, continues to boost the price at the pump and, by 2030, will add a total of 17 cents plus the sales tax on top of that.

If Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland get their way, Canadians will end up paying as much as 62 cents extra for every litre of gas they buy.

Every day, Canadians from coast to coast to coast are paying the price of failed Liberal policies. As the Liberals talk down to Canadians and continue hiking the cost of everything, you are paying the price. The Liberals are out-of-touch, and Canadians are out of money.
